Getting your motorcycle endorsement requires passing a permit Knowledge and Skills test followed by an endorsement level Knowledge and Skills test. Riders must have a valid motorcycle permit to obtain a full endorsement.
Permit level and endorsement level safety courses include a DOL Knowledge test and Skills test that corresponds with the course level.

If you have never ridden a motorcycle or had little experience riding a scooter, ATV or off road vehicle the KickStart is an introductory, hands on motorcycle course that will give you the very basics of motorcycle controls and operation. This low stress 3 hour course will get you ready to advance to the beginner permit course with confidence. There is no classroom portion or testing in this pre-permit/introduction to motorcycles course.
This 3 hour introductory course is designed for the true novice and introduces the basics of motorcycle controls and operation in a low stress environment. provides the motorcycles and class sizes are kept low for more personal attention. This class can be completed using a provided scooter instead of motorcycle by requesting a scooter during registration. The KickStart course will give new riders the confidence and foundation they need to attend The Beginner Motorcycle Permit Course.

Endorsement qualifying 8 hour courses include a 3 hour classroom session and a 5 hour range session designed to help you successfully pass the motorcycle endorsement Knowledge and endorsement Skills tests included with your course, preparing you to become an educated and responsible rider.
Now you are starting to become comfortable on a motorcycle and understand the operation of a clutch. You are ready for the beginner motorcycle Permit Qualifying course. ’s 16 hour two wheel motorcycle course is designed for beginning riders. To register you do not need any prior motorcycle experience but should be able to comfortably ride a bicycle.
This course offer the basics of motorcycling and rider safety skills at a pace that is appropriate for new riders, or riders returning to motorcycling. Classroom sessions cover important topics for novice riders and information to help you pass the Washington motorcycle permit Knowledge test. Range exercises include starting, stopping, shifting, riding in a straight line, cornering, swerving, and quick stops.
Once you have passed the permit Knowledge and Skills tests and are a confident rider, you are ready for an endorsement qualifying course. You must have a valid Washington motorcycle permit to take the endorsement course.

Motorcycle endorsement qualifying courses are for riders that have a current Washington motorcycle permit and are ready to earn their full motorcycle endorsement. ‘s endorsement qualifying classroom session covers advanced street riding skills, improving your perception of hazards and hazardous situations, allowing you to self-evaluate your level of risk taking. Range exercises will practice advanced braking, cornering, hazard avoidance and handling techniques.
Endorsement qualifying 8 hour courses include a 3 hour classroom session and a 5 hour range session designed to help you successfully pass the endorsement knowledge and endorsement skills tests included with your course.
