You will receive a testing session confirmation from Motorcycle@GoWMST.com directly following your registration. This confirmation contains important information regarding your testing session. Be sure to locate it and review it carefully.

Permit Skills Test

You must provide your own street legal motorcycle and arrive with a current registration, proof of insurance and all the required riding gear.
If you need to use one of our training motorcycles, enroll in one of our permit courses
In compliance with DOL requirements, you will not be able to test without the required riding gear.
Prices as of 2025
Required riding gear:
- A helmet that meets DOT standards
- Long jeans or heavier material pants with no rips, tears or holes
- Long sleeve shirt or jacket that is weather appropriate
- Eye protection such as glasses, sunglasses, safety glasses or goggles
- Sturdy boots that cover the ankle with no more than a 1-inch heel. No canvas high tops or boots with an elastic ankle covering.
- Gloves that cover the entire hand
Washington State requires you to pass a total of four tests to get a two-wheel motorcycle endorsement. You must pass the permit level Knowledge and Skills tests and then the endorsement level Knowledge and Skills tests.

The Washington Permit knowledge test is comprised of 50 multiple choice questions on rules of the road and motorcycle safety.
The permit and endorsement knowledge tests are based on a DOL motorcycle operator manual. Read and study the manual before taking the test.

Testing | Cancelation Policies
- Testing fees are not refunded if you cancel less than 7 days before your test date
- Prior to 7 days, you may reschedule your test at no additional cost
- If you do not show for your scheduled test, your fee will not be refunded; however, you may reschedule for an additional 50% of your testing fee.
