You must provide your own street legal motorcycle and arrive with a current registration and proof of insurance.

Required riding gear:

  • A helmet that meets DOT standards
  • Long jeans or heavier material pants with no rips, tears or holes
  • Long sleeve shirt or jacket that is weather appropriate
  • Eye protection such as glasses, sunglasses, safety glasses or goggles
  • Sturdy boots that cover the ankle with no more than a 1-inch heel.  No canvas high tops or boots with an elastic ankle covering.  
  • Gloves that cover the entire hand
Failure to arrive with your motorcycle, registration, proof of insurance and required riding gear is a forfeit of your testing fee.  

Washington State requires you to pass a total of two tests to get a three-wheel motorcycle endorsement.  You must pass a Knowledge test and a Skills tests. 

Step #1 | Motorcycle Knowledge Testing

3 Wheel Motorcycles

The Washington Endorsement Knowledge test is comprised of 25 multiple choice questions on rules of the road and motorcycle safety. 

Both the permit and endorsement Knowledge tests are based on a DOL motorcycle operator manual which you will want to read and study before taking the test. 

Step #2 | Motorcycle Skills Testing

3 Wheel Motorcycles

Motorcycle endorsement qualifying tests are for riders that have a current Washington drivers license and are ready to earn their full 3 wheel motorcycle endorsement. 

Riders attending skills test only sessions must provide their own motorcycle or scooter.  

permit and endorsement courses include a knowledge and a skills test and the use of a training motorcycle.  If you would like to use one of our motorcycles, please enroll in a safety course.
