Drivers Ed in Lynnwood
WMST teaches teen and adult drivers in Lynnwood, with the Meadowdale partner classroom and drives that take on the 196th, Highway 99, Alderwood, and I-5 traffic that make Lynnwood one of the busier places to learn in the county.
If you can drive Lynnwood, you can drive most places.
Lynnwood does not ease a new driver in. The 196th and 44th arterials, the Alderwood Mall traffic, the Highway 99 strip, and the I-5 and I-405 interchange all sit close together and stay busy. The upside is simple: a teen who learns to drive here builds real judgment fast, because there is always something to read.
WMST teaches the classroom at Meadowdale, on the Lynnwood and Edmonds line, and your teen keeps the same certified instructor through every drive. The classroom can also be done online and paired with local drives.
WMST is a DOL-approved examiner, so the same school that trains your teen gives the skills test. One package covers it all, from $549, classroom and drives and observation.
196th, Alderwood, and the I-5 ramps.
We start new drivers on the residential streets off 44th and 168th, away from the rush, until steering and stopping are smooth. Then it is onto 196th and the Alderwood area, where the turn lanes, timed signals, and constant lane changes teach a teen to think a few seconds ahead.
The mall ring roads and big lots are useful for low-speed control and backing, then the arterials right outside them put that to the test in traffic. Highway 99 adds the left-turns-across-traffic practice that makes nervous drivers freeze if they have not done it enough.
Lynnwood also gives easy access to the I-5 and 405 ramps for freeway merging, and we use that in the later drives along with parallel parking, back-in stalls, and a full test-style rehearsal. The Lynnwood transit and light rail area gets busy, so we work that pedestrian-heavy traffic too.
