Our Story
About Us
Washington Motorcycle Safety Training or is an approved provider of Washington Department of Licensing 2-wheel and 3-wheel motorcycle training courses as well as Permit and Endorsement skills and knowledge testing.
Washington Motorcycle Safety Training was founded in 2009 and Washington Motorist Safety Training was started a few years later with the goal of improving the quality of new motorcycle riders and drivers. has since become one of the largest training centers in Washington state.
is owned and operated by a team of passionate individuals who are advocates of the sport and saving lives. We have motorcycle training sites across Washington state with our corporate office in Everett.
We are a driving school for motorcycles and our goal is to provide you with the physical and mental skills you need to negotiate today’s challenging roads. We work hard to make sure each rider/student receives, not only important knowledge with hands-on skills training, but enjoyment in beginning or continuing their life of motorcycling.
Chris Johnson
Meet our Founder
Chris held several advanced driving certifications in England prior to becoming a US Citizen. He is an Institute of Advance Motorists, a Motorcycle Safety Foundation instructor, a Washington State Driver Trainer.
Chris Johnson began his motorcycling journey a long long time ago as a young man in England. After taking the CBT (compulsory basic training), and after making a lot of mistakes in rider’s choices, Chris found himself doing motorcycle track days. This is where Chris first discovered the value of training and set upon his journey to become an instructor.
In 2008 Chris became a Washington State certified MSF instructor and went on to become a Washington State Motorcycle training contractor and since then has authored multiple national training curriculums plus has been published in multiple traffic safety publications. Chis was an Authorized Heavy Vehicle Driving Assessor for TNT Express and was hazmat certified operator for the British Armed Forces. As a former BEMSEE and WMRRA Sport Bike Racer, Chris understands the passion for speed, but more importantly the need for training.
Chris has trained racers and professional riders and drivers he has even trained our own Washington State Motorcycle officers.
Chris is a very proud of his WMST team and their professionalism dedicated to their work and looks forward to seeing you in one of the WMST classes soon.

Our motorcycle instructors have extensive training backgrounds and all are certified through the Washington Motorcycle Safety Program. ‘s motorcycle instructors receive some of the best continuing education and training in Washington, from advance motorcycle riding skills to teaching techniques.
