Drivers Ed at Kamiak High School

WMST runs teen drivers education for Kamiak Knights right in Mukilteo, with the classroom on the Harbour Pointe side of town and behind-the-wheel drives that start where your teen already spends their day.

Built for Kamiak families

The drivers ed most Kamiak parents hear about from another Kamiak parent.

Harbour Pointe Boulevard sets the tone for what your teen learns first. It has the wide lanes, the steady roundabout traffic, and the school-zone timing that a brand new driver needs to read before anything harder. We teach to that, then we build out from it.

Our main classroom and office sit a few minutes up the road on 44th Ave W, so Kamiak is about as close to home base as a WMST student can get. Same certified instructors from the first day of class through the last drive, which means nobody is relearning where your teen struggles halfway through.

And because WMST is a DOL-approved examiner, the people coaching your teen are the same people who run the skills test. No stranger in the passenger seat on test day, no surprise route. It is all one $549 to $699 package depending on how much test support you want.

Driving around Harbour Pointe

Roads your Kamiak driver will actually learn on.

New drivers start on the quieter grid below the school, the streets off Harbour Pointe and Chennault Beach Road, where speeds are low and there is room to make a clean mistake. Once mirrors, lane position, and reference points stop being a guess, we move them onto Mukilteo Speedway and the 525 corridor for real merging and lane changes.

Hills come with the territory here. The drop toward the waterfront and the climbs back up to Harbour Pointe are good teachers for hill starts and downhill speed control, the kind of thing the DOL examiner watches closely. We also spend time on the Paine Field and Boeing approach roads, where traffic moves and timing matters.

Parking practice happens where it counts: angle and back-in spots near the Harbour Pointe shopping strip, parallel parking on calm side streets, and the backing-around-a-corner maneuver until it stops feeling like a big deal.
